-Exempt from standard parking fees at all on-street parking meters or parking machines.
-Park, where on-street parking is lawfully allowed, at an angle, but not more than sixty (60) degrees to the curb.
-Allow motor scooters to park on sidewalks.
-Parking Authority will designate a small area at all of their indoor and outdoor Green P lots where motorcycles and scooters may park for free.

That’s AWESOME, right? So, the question is… When will you see this go into effect? Well, if you live in Toronto, it could be sooner than you think. If you live in the USA, you’re outta luck, or rather… you’re gonna have to start calling some political figures, passing out petitions, waving signs and banners, etc.

Thanks to Colin for the heads up! If it is successful we might have a leg to stand on when making a case for these amendments in the USA.

***UPDATE***
The motion has passed. Bikers and Vespa drivers can rejoice:
City council has passed a motion to grant free parking at metered spots for scooters and motorcycles.Councilor Case Ootes says it’s nothing but good news all around because users will save money on parking, converted car drivers would open traffic and the two-wheelers pump out less pollution.Ootes says he’s now looking into whether the “Green P” lots will be included as well.
