Apparently the Burgman really ISN’T a scooter to some people. It will always be a scooter in my book. Even with it’s huge 400 and 650cc engines. The Times of India says to look out for a smaller scoot in the near future. Will we see it in the USA? Well, that’s a different story… one yet to be told.
Suzuki to enter scooter market- The Times of India: “TOKYO: Suzuki Motor Corp is all set to ride back into the burgeoning two-wheeler market in India this December. In its new avatar, Suzuki has also decided enter the gearless scooter market, a segment the Japanese firm had steered clear of in its previous JV with TVS Group.
‘The maiden product from new venture will be introduced by end-November or early December. While we will start operations with a line-up of commuter bikes starting with the 125cc segment, we are also planning to enter the scooter market soon,’ Suzuki Motor senior MD Shinzo Nakanishi told TOI.
While stating the new scooters will be positioned in gearless segment and aimed at growing urban populace, he refused to divulge details on product pricing.
