Thanks to Keys for letting us in on an interesting discovery. Looks like Genuine is about to introduce another fresh face to the North American scooter market with the “Rattler”.

Adjustable suspension, 50cc or a 110cc 2-stroke pushin’ 8hp (according to Bryce), AND it should be available soon!

Thata boy Genuine! Keep ‘em comin’! I haven’t even sat on the Buddy yet!
Keep an eye out for even MORE Genuine announcements after the Minn Rally.

I have to say I really like it, who in Austin sells Genuine, anyone?

a few more pics, including the one above: http://philadelphiascooters.blogspot.com/2006/06/genuine-scooter-news.html

they’re originally called the PMS (*chuckle*) http://www.english.pgo.com.tw/pms.shtml

I think this has the potential for some serious modifications. The low compression engine, the extra space in the wheel wells.. guess we’ll see

I like what you’ve shown me so far though,

The history of Genuine Scooters in Austin as I saw it: Mototek sold Stellas a few years back when they were in Round Rock. At some point, they moved downtown, dropped Genuine, and Ducati Austin started selling them.

DA never seemed to advertise them, but they sold quite a few. Just before the Buddy and Black Cat came out, Mototek bought Austin Ducati, and for some reason dropped Genuine again.

So, now that Genuine is bringing in some truly interesting, unique, well-priced modern scooters that should be burning up the streets of Austin, the closest place to buy them is The Motorcycle Shop (great shop) in San Antonio.

I thought the USA banned the sale of NEW 2-stroke engines as of 2006. How can Genuine import this scooter into the USA if it is a 2-stroke?

There’s no USA/EPA ban on two strokes. They just have to meet the same emmission standard that any motorcycle engine of that displacement has to meet.

TGB offers two strokes. Aprilia offers a two stroke. Daelim says they do too.
