Italjet Velocifero ignition wiring diagram

Educational

I got a call the other day from someone with a Velocifero. It was given to the guy and it only had 100 miles on odometer but the key was broken off in the ignition. He removed the ignition module and removed the key… BUT forgot to label which wires went to which poles. D’oh!

Even with a blackbelt in Google-fu, neither I nor Illnoise from 2StrokeBuzz could locate the elusive wiring diagram (thanks for the help by the way Bryan).

Luckily Scuderia West has some kickass mechanics with this sort of knowledge buried in their archives. The above image SHOULD be the correct ignition wiring schematic for the Italjet Velocifero. No guarantee is written nor implied. If you blow up your bike… sorry.

If you find an error in the diagram, please let us know. We just want to help people get the right information so they can get back on the road. Thanks.

When is the Dragster going to be available in the U.S?

I am also interested in buying the Dragster 250… when will it be available and where is that list of dealers? You should consider having the Vespa dealers carry the Dragster as it uses a Vespa engine.

Italjet is making a mistake with those Chinese scooters. The need to build innovative and unique bikes like the Dragster 250 using Piaggio/Vespa engines and not sell rebranded Chinese garbage. For example, I would love to buy the retro-styled Amarcord Concept with the Piaggio 500cc engine and the ECVT from the GP800. In the USA at least, a lot of scooter riders are pretty affluent. Been to any Vespa events lately? This crowd – including me – would pay more for high-tech suspension, high-tech transmissions, and innovative designs.

I have a 1997 Velocifero and need ignition, steering column lock parts and a gas cap. Does any know where I might get any of these parts? Steven

Steve! Try one of these 2 people:
    U.P.AGASHE at Kinetic upa@kineticindia.com

    or

Marco Montanari at Italjet Moto S.r.l. customercare@italjet.it

They would rather that someone buy parts in bulk, so I’m not sure how much luck you’ll have… It’s the best I got unless you’re able to
find someone on ebay who is parting their scooter.

    Good luck!
