Spielberg’s film moves to Rabat: “Shooting took place on a corner restaurant adjacent to St. Paul’s Church. The restaurant was disguised as a snack bar ‘Tavola Calda La Grotta’ in the heart of Cavour Square in Rome. St. Paul’s Square was adorned with lamp posts and a bus stop.
A number of original Lambretta scooters and Fiat Cinquecentos with Roman number plates, very popular in the seventies, were used in the shooting.
