Well… I guess I was wrong. I said, very confidently, a couple of months ago that gas will never dip below $2/gal again. It appears that here in Austin it has. I haven’t seen it with my own eyes, but according to austingasprices.com it has.
I guess after those quarterly profit announcements (Almost $10 Billion last quarter for Exxon Mobile), the oil companies have decided to “give us a break”… only because the government was starting to sniff around (they gotta get their hands in it TOO ya know).
How long will this last? What sort of impact will it have on vehicle purchases? Will people garage their scoots and go buy that heavily discounted Ford Exorbitant? Tune it next time for the exciting conclusion.
Now I won’t have to pay $9 to fill up my tank anymore. w00t!
