You know I’m in love with the Rumi Formichino. How often do you run into a polished aluminum Rumi Formichino? Now how often do you run into one FOR SALE? Well if you’ve got the resources then you can park this baby in your garage. I tell you, I’ve been scheming for a way to come up with $4800 to buy her, but the wife won’t let me sell her Honda CR-V… something about needing to haul the kids around… I dunno… It’s hard to figure women out sometimes.
Here’s the description from the seller:
Hi Steve, I took some pictures of the Rumi. I will give you the vehicle description as it was given to me when I purchase the scooter, here it is; This “Formichino” ( Little Ant) was totally polished by hand, a very expensive and painful job, due to the nature of the material (porous aluminum made in Germany for the italian Rumi). Originally these scooters came with a painted body and wheels. We chromed the wheels, use staniless steel for the sides and tried to polish the body with a machine, this was impossible. The only way was by hand with sand paper and kerosene. Then apply a special coat of crystal enamel and wait 6 months with the parts under the weather to see if the polish would stay. That did the trick, don’t ask me the combination of materials on the enamel. New tires, new seat covers, totally restored engine with original pistons and rings, NOS alloy muffer and exhaust. We added a Rumi front crest and the Rumi emblem on the back along with the wheel covers and rear foot rests. Orginial speedometer and grips. Runs very nice and is faster than a Lambretta or comtemporary Vespa of the 50′s due to their twin cylinders, 125cc, 2 stroke; 4 speed horizontal engine. In France they are still racing Runis. I hope this information helps you made a decision. If you are into scooters the is a cool find. Everything is their and it is a runinng machine, light, horn, brakes etc. work.
IF you wanna jump on this rare deal, email Jimmy Sabino. He lives in NJ… you guys work it out from there. Now for the Rumi pr0n:

I´m hugomez again, I just realized that in my previous post I have mistakes saying:
“If you want to buy or you know somebody want buy one please put in contact with me.”
Sorry, the right word is “sell” intead “buy”. My english is terrible :(

Hello,
I am sure after all this years, your rumi has been sold, but I can’t refrain from asking ?
Do you still have it for sale ?
or know if the “new owner” would like to sell it ?
(congratulations, but it has surely been a hell of a job to polish it…)
Thanks for transfering my email to the new owner as we never know if the rumi might be thinking about a new home ;)
Best Regards,
philippe
