The Hindu : Andhra Pradesh / Hyderabad News : Chief Minister’s escort vehicle sideswipes scooterist: “HYDERABAD: An unidentified woman riding a Kinetic Honda had a miraculous escape after a vehicle in the Chief Minister’s convoy sideswiped her scooter toppling her, near Walden Book Store on Wednesday night.
The woman who was slightly injured sat on the footpath for some time, as stunned passersby rushed to her help, and went away without giving her name. She was saved only because she was wearing a helmet. Apparently, the woman scooterist ignored the blaring sirens and tried to cruise along instead of pulling over to allow the convoy pass. Four of the five vehicles in the convoy crossed the scooterist, but the last vehicle sideswiped the scooter. ‘The woman fell and the vehicle skidded for over four or five metres,’ passersby recalled.”
The moral of this story? 1) Always wear a helmet. 2) When you’re in India and you see the Chief Minister coming… Get the hell out the way! Those fools don’t have ANY respect for Scooterists.
