Ken Williamson was doing a piece on alternatives to the single passenger commuter car and other ways to reduce pollution and oil consumption. Here’s a snippit.
The Charleston Gazette – Editorials: “Weather and other conditions permitting, the bicycle is a very practical and healthful vehicle for carrying people to work. Mopeds are the next step up from the bicycle, taking thousands of cars off urban streets in Madrid and Paris. Restrictions on vehicles in downtown areas have reduced traffic snarl in London. These steps actually create better living for city residents and for commuters.”
