(Yamaha Nouvo, the 115cc five passenger scooter)

They don’t actually advertise it as a five passenger scooter, but they are succeeding in hauling as many people as my wife can cram in her CR-V (and they look just as comfortable).

Anyone know who’s driving?

“Fives” are an extremely rare sight, even for Vietnam. I only saw two examples of it in Hanoi and none at all on my visit to Ho Chi Minh last year. But this is the only time I managed to photograph it, and after waiting all day I managed to take this photo about thirty minutes before catching my train to China. The other example, which was four kids and a dog, would have been an awesome photo but they zipped past me at a distance of about two metres when I was using my telephoto. Pity.
