Barbara, seen here repairing my clutch cable on our way back to Austin from the 3rd Coast Rally in San Antonio (in 12 minutes flat, mind you), has bid a farewell to her friends in America and is back home in Austria now. Austin was saddened when she and Ben headed off to Houston to join the Scooter Battalion. I’m sure Houston will miss her as well. She’s a straight shooter, skilled rider, knowledgeable scooter technician and just an overall good character. Take care my friend!
Ahhh, I can almost hear her response to this melancholy post. I’m sure it would go something like… “Steef! Yoo ahh sucha vuss! Bak hom vee neva krry abowt anyting! Espezially on zum STUUUPid skoota blog!”
We’ll all wish you the very best.
If you knew Barbara, you should leave her a little comment here.

Barbara, we miss you very much. You’re a helluva rider and a nice person, too. Thanks for picking up my camera:) We will be lost w/o you…riding in Houston. Take care. Come back to Texas where you’ve got many friends anytime!

Barbara,
I will really miss you and I will always remember riding to the San Antonio Rally with you. You where determined for the Austin group to actually ride our vespas to that rally. Besides Steves cable breaking all of our scooters held up really well. I’m glad you talked all of us into it! That ride made the whole trip more exciting. It was also really nice to see a girl know the mechanics of a Vespa! That is rare and I hope I will get there one day! We will all miss you:)

Seems the forum of The Scooter Friends Vienna think she’s “a woman for marrying”

Oh Steve, you overshadowed the Battalion on this one. Thanks for doing this…I will put up a link at http://www.scooterbattalion.com. To tell you the truth, I am so sad about Barbara leaving that I didn’t want to be reminded of it. She was a fundamental member of the Battalion and there will always be an open seat here for her.
It also seems that everyone wants Barbara as their girlfriend!
