Caught this while stumbling through the internet. The image shows how much space it takes to transport the same number of humans via car, bus and bicycle. Look how that traffic jam clears RIGHT on up. You could substitute scooters for bikes in that last shot… or at least mopeds. See how much bigger the road is now? Nice.

It looks like they had only one person per car which is probably not entirely accurate but they make a great point. Think how much happier the world would be if everyone had to ride a scooter or motorcycle to work. Everyone would show up with smiles on their faces!

Okay, so put two people in each car, and double the number of people (and bikes) in the other photos. Does it change the story very much?

Don’t change the number of people, just put two people in every car and you split the number of cars in half. I am not disagreeing with what they are trying to say, it is just easy to skew observations with stuff like this.

Uh, observe the typical suburban American rush hour and you will see BY FAR one person in one car.

The entire panel is somewhat skewed, due to the zoomed-in first photo (while the remaining two photos are from a significantly further apparent vantage point). However, it still provides a powerful (and accurate) statement.
Why on earth they still allow private automobiles on the streets of Manhattan escapes me. All that clogging traffic does nothing but literally impede forward progress.

Every time I see a hummer it only has one person in it. I see this on average, about 5 times a day (not the same vehicle, mind you).
6’614 lbs. of steel and plastic to transport around 200 lbs. of human excrement.
…..That statement doesnt come off as hostile, does it?
