Found a good reason to go see the new movie Fool’s Gold, 1:45 into the trailer above you’ll see the stars of the film, Mat McConaughey and Kate Hudson, riding through the jungle on an old Vespa. Actually, after I watched that trailer I thought the movie actually looks kinda fun even without a jungle night ride. I might have to add it to my list of things to do next week.
Thanks to Fritz and also to April over at JustScoot! for the scoop! Chalk that up to yet ANOTHER film credit for the old wasp. Forty-three films and not ONE Oscar… We’re not even going to get into the whole Emmy shut-out.

The scene is on the commerical which they’ve been saturating the air waves with for the past month or so.
With the media blitz, it’s probably a crappy movie. :)

2 reasons not to see overriding the one reason to see. Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughy.

The fact there’s a vespa in it it doesn’t mean it’s actually worth seeing. You’re too easily pleased – exercise some taste, Steve.
The engine noise they replace the vespa engine sound with in post production sound a lot like a motocross bike.

ellen! probably so. What they lack in pith the make up for in puff. That’s why you rarely see commercials for Moleskine, Mr. Bento, The Oxford English Dictionary, or Rescue Tape. With such quality who needs hype?
mac! You know, I originally thought the same thing. Not a fan of either, but this looked tolerable; like if my wife said “let’s go watch a romance/action/comedy”, I wouldn’t have to play sick.
anon… I’ve been called a lot of things, but “easy to please” is not …um ok, so I’m easy to please. But really, with movies I’m quite critical. My knee-jerk reaction was “Hudson? McConaughy? Romance/Action/Comedy?! no thanks.” Figured the only redeeming value would be a jungle scooter ride. I must have been hypnotized in the process, because after watching the trailer I thought it actually looked worthy of a buzzed hour-and-forty-five minutes on the couch with a bag of Central Market Organic Sea Salted Popcorn (another perfect product that needs no advertising). You are right though, the scene would have been better with a good old “ping-ping-ping-ping” instead.

Steve, the spouse and I saw it. Its not terrible. That Vespa has a battery the size of the one in my truck if the headlight shining all night long was to be believed!
