Well, the first of our scooter reviews for Motorcycle.com is up. The video is just a summary. If you’d like to read the whole enchilada click on the title link or just click here.
Note: For some reason when YouTube encoded it my audio got kinda messed up (breathy and plosive). Oh well… now I’m gonna try this Veoh version of the video.

Steve,
I enjoyed your review and the Aprilia SportCity was on my short list for a upgrade scooter. I may move up to a bigger wheel scooter and retaining the mpg of a scooter. This is one reason I have not moved onto a larger motorcycle. I also find the larger wheel like in your review to be adequate for sketchy road way and curves. Great review and looking forward on your other reviews. I am also waiting for your review on the Majesty.
Thanks,
Phil

Hi, Is this scooter small enough for a woman who is 5’3″. I ride a 150cc Fly by Piaggio now but I would like a bike with more power and this bike sounds good to me but I am concerned about the seat height from the ground. Annie

Hi anonymous —
Quoted from their text review over at motorcycle.com:
“The SportCity 250 is one of the lightest scooters in its class with a very narrow profile, making her very easy to maneuver. The 32″ seat height makes for good visibility but also makes it hard for anyone less than 5’7″ to sit flat footed (both feet flat on the pavement).”
5’3′ is going to be tough on just about any scooter. Take a look at the Vespa 250GTS or the Yamaha Morpheus.

Hi Anon,
The Morphous is a good suggestion if you are 5’3″. However I find the Vespa GTS top heavy and tall seated, nice bike though. Additional bikes to consider are the Helix, Reflex, Grand Vista and believe it or not the Suzuki Burgman 400. The Burgman 400 may be more bike than you want but it has a surprisingly low seat height for both the old design and the new one. The B400 also gets very good gas mileage.
And Steve, nice work on the video. I thought it was quite well done.

Consider a Yamaha TW200 dualsport. It has a 31 inch seat height, 80 mpg, is faster and has the capability to go off road if you desire. I love exploring with it.

I love the fat wheels on that TW!

Google it and see for yourself…..
