This material isn’t new, but this use could be. Someone has taken the 3M Scotchlite Reflective Tape (black) and covered their bike top to bottom. The results? A spooky flat black bike in the day and a ghostly white bike at night (when hit with a bright light source).
My question is… who will be the first to cover their scooter top to bottom in Scotchlite? You can shop for it here .
Thanks to Gizmodo (title link) for digging this up. Here’s a video of the work involved to cover the bike.

I am using this stuff on my all black Lambretta. I installed it on all the forks, wheels, tail light and pinstriped the cowls with it. You can’t even tell it’s there during the day. It’s pretty cool stuff.

How pricey is this? How much scratch are we looking at to cover an entire scooter?

well, i’ve outlined my silver c3 in silver scotchlite, does that count? though i’ve been getting at my dad for putting the black scotchlite on his saddlebags.

I really wonder how long the adhesive ‘ll hold up in temp and weather changes. i’d rather see some sort of auto airbrush paint that did a similar thing.

That scoot looks great! Like a TRON scooter!
