Both scooters are 150cc 4-stroke with very similar performance and specs. Both are from the drafting tables of Nova Design. Both are from SYM, but only ONE has a chance to make it to the USA. So what’s it gonna be? You choose.

The second one looks way too generic. I vote the first one. Are these 4 valve head models?

According to our boys over at The Scooter Review, it is the 4-valve engine capable of a 67 mph top speed and a fuel efficiencies of 89 mpg (142 miles per fill up).
Another big bonus on this scoot is a massive under seat storage area.

I vote for the first one with larger headlights. I like the idea of 4 valves per cylinder increasing performance and not increasing displacements (mpg and insurance). SYM appears to be riding on the coat tail of KYMCO huge success in the U.S..

That’s a no-brainer. The first one is too generic, too dull, too Chinezy. The 2nd one has more wedgey, dynamic lines that appeal to me. 2nd one gets my vote!
SYM was making Honda Civic’s and motorcycles in Taiwan in the 70′s when KYMCO only made Honda motorcycles. It’s all about choices I know; but SYM outperforms, imo.

I’m glad they are making a vehicle for people with no legs from the knee down. But they should think about how small of a market this is. Maybe they get points for making the product ‘accessible’.

I really don’t like either BUT if I had to I’d pick #2. It seems a bit more conservative in its presence. I just don’t need the larger frame of the first one.

Personally I prefer the “Fighter,” but its long nose makes it look too much like no-name Chinese scooters. The “VS” has a generic European look which has a better chance of decent sales.

Interesting thought. There are several companies making clones of the old Vespa P-series, why not some clones of the Lambretta GP? Sure, the Lambretta name is currently in use, but the style is much more valuable.
Creating a Lambretta-shaped modern scooter shouldn’t be any harder than any other blank-sheet design. Just because CMSI can’t get theirs into production doesn’t mean someone else can’t.

Dunno why the first one is winning the vote counts. Looks way to plastic-y to me.
I rather like the look of the integrated front fender on the fighter versus the very cookie-cutter chinese-knockoff looking fender on the VS 150.
I guess I like my bikes to look more like pieces of industrial design instead of insects, so my vote is for the fighter.

Definitely like the VS150 better. I am not a fan of the long nosed design in many scooters. Looks like a prop from a Spy vs. Spy cartoon.

Why does anyone buy the new Thundbird? The new GTO? The new VW Bug? A new Vespa? Nostalgia perhaps? Timeless design?
I think it’s unlikely that Ford will make a 2010 Model T. The design isn’t fantastic. It IS possible to improve on a classic just the same way the CD is an improvement on the 8 track.
Time may move on, but desire doesn’t have to.

I live in Bermuda where we have both of them. I bought the VS because of the huge under seat storage and the fact that it was around $600 cheaper.
It was a tough call though. They’re both so nice.

We’re getting some good feedback here. Thanks to all of you.
The cool thing about SYM is that they have lots of models available in Taiwan, so if the USA finds something desirable in their current line up you don’t have to wait a lifetime for it to go from CAD to concept to manufacturing to homologation… just homologation which can take a year or more by itself.
Another cool thing about SYM is that they are open to feedback from YOU. Of course if the feedback is “Make the Robotribe designed Lambretta with a HD200 engine in it!”, the Taiwanese are likely to shake their heads.
Would it be freakin’ awesome? Hells yeah! But, when you think about the expenses (time/money) to go from concept to production you have to ask if SYM will be able to make a profit. How many will sell at what price? Can you sell 100,000 at $24,599 each? Can you sell 500,000 at $4999 each? Of course I’m just throwing numbers out there. I have no idea what the total cost of production is for a brand new model and no one has an idea how many “SYMbrettas” would sell over their lifetime.

Seeing the white version, suddenly I like the VS150 more (but only versus the fighter in white). Would still pick the fighter in black above all else.
