A really aerodynamicly sound looking scooter, the 1947 Salisbury Model 85 (seen here in QTVR) must be rare because I couldn’t find a darn thing about them on the web other than that they sell for $7000-$9000 IF they haven’t already sold out. The scooter of the future? I’d buy one… if… they made them today… for less than $7000.

That’s the scoot I’m trying to emulate with my project!

The front end looks like a state fair midway bumper car.

and the seat too… but I love the backside.
I’ve seen Casey’s project, and I’d say it’s about 90% done… It’s shaping up nicely! (and it’s not bumper car looking)

Steve,
I believe this is a SCOOP of sorts – CPI MOTOR CO – the maker of 50cc and 150cc “Sport Bike” scooters [GTR] will be making a 250cc version.

Chris Densmore from Scooter Escapes LLC states: “I talked with a management type at CPI-USA yesterday, and she confirmed that in fact a GTR 250 is in development.”

P.S. Why haven’t I ever heard of these “sport-bike scooters” before?
