This is like deja vu… Seems like just under a year ago when every paper in the country was touting scooters as the new car replacement. You can ignore these if it seems like the same old song… I just post them so people can see how the buzz is rising again.

Eyewitness News – High gas prices make scooters more attractive: “PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — With gas prices heading toward three dollars a gallon again, more people are buying scooters.

The two-wheel vehicles get as much as 90 miles to the gallon.

They cost 18-hundred to 32-hundred dollars to buy.

Scooter commuter Emory Lundberg of Providence says he spends about four dollars a week on gas. He has a car he drives in snow but used it only 21 days this winter.

Patrick Engeman, who owns Javaspeed in Providence, says rising gas prices have been helping sales at his storeso has a change in state law that lets people ride scooters that go 30 miles per hour or slower without a motorcycle license.”
