I just got in from outta state. I couldn’t wait to slap my new graphics from Scooter-Art. Unfortunately, I’m too run down to give you the whole write up (look for it tomorrow), but in short I can say these things get an A+! It’s like I got a new scooter! Stay tuned!

Alrighty… I’m back! I’m showered and shaved and feeling fresh as a cucumber (that’s what I get for letting the wife buy the soap).

Speaking of fresh, check out the look of my new Helix! Well, it’s the same old (’86) helix, but I added a graphics package from Scooter-Art. You can see all the images here, but I’m not sure my photos will do them any justice… It was cloudy and I was in a hurry (you can in the photos that I was in charge of the 2.5 year old that day).

I ordered them from the site (see above link) and it took about a week to get here… and THAT was from Australia! (and, no, I don’t know if they really drink Fosters and throw ‘shrimps on the barby’, but I’m not gonna ask… don’t wanna catch a boomerang upside the head.)

I slapped them on as soon as I saw them. One thing to note, is although it says to adhear them in a cool place, I wouldn’t recommend doing it in a cool, cramped, dark place. I did it in my garage at night and found that I had left a few bubbles the next morning. They are pretty easy to get out, but I wouldn’t have had the problem if I woulda just waited till morning and done it outside before the day got hot.

Also… you can add them and change them out as you see fit. I may have gone a bit overboard with the graphics on my turn signals, but I could always remove them with a hair dryer. No big deal.

The man behind the idea is Pete (and his secret identity is Dr.Dream, but you didn’t hear that from me). He’s got a slew of styles and colors and even more in the pipeline. They look nice on a Vespa or just about any scooter with some available field space. You can order a single pack or do some reselling and buy them in bulk (>15 packs) at wholesale prices. You can by mult-packs in case you like to change with the seasons (3-15 packs gets a 10% discount). If you’re in the USA you get an even better deal because the prices are in $AUS which is around .76 to the dollar $US plus $7 ($5.32US) shipping. The whole deal, shipped, was less than $60US… Much cheaper than a paint job and I think it looks real cool. I’ll take it to the scooter meet this weekend and see what sorta responses I get.

PROS: Inexpensive way to make your scooter stand out. Easy to install. Easy to remove. Stylish.

CONS: I didn’t come up with the idea. Requires some sort of dexterity to apply bubble free.
