‘It was a great rivalry between the two, purely aesthetics divided. There were endless debates over which was faster,’ says T.O. advertising executive Michael Braley, a truly original Mod, who has been a part of scooter culture since living in London in the 60s.

‘At 16 and 17 you couldn’t afford a car. Scooters allowed a whole generation of youth to become liberated in terms of mobility. They were all part of the Mod movement — the fashion, music, dance — at the time.’”
