The Derbi Rambla = Competition for the Ruckus?

I was camping out at the Italian Scooter site Always Blog and ran into some images from the EICMA in Milan that I hadn’t seen before, like this… The Derbi Rambla. It comes in a 50cc or 125cc 4-stroke and is dressed in yellow or black. Italians describe it as the SUV of scooters and as you can see it looks like direct competition for the Ruckus and the Big Ruckus minus 125cc’s. We prolly won’t see this in the Americas until Bellzebub puts on his mittens and scarf. Sorry.

Wow- I really like it. The front looks like an old Czeta with the flat piece presumably for luggage. The flattened sides on the back are reminiscent of a Ser III Lambretta. I’d love to see one in person. A great name too.

I wouldn’t even be too surprised to see it in the US – with Piaggio restructuring its US operation and opening its Aprilia dealers to Vespas and perhaps Derbis, stranger things have happened.

I like it over the Ruckus for the flat floor. It could be a contender.
