Check out the slick Burgman site featuring soccer genius Alexander Del Piero at www.myburgman.com. Suzuki has really done a good job with this immersion site even showing some love to English speakers. If you’re not in a hurry, you can casually peruse the site with all of it’s macromedia + lounge trance goodness. If your a “just the facts” kinda guy/gal… You’ll probably not wanna waste your time.

Thanks to motoblog.it for the scoop!

OK, you’re about to see how odd I really am.

I have a huge preference for bikes that have two separated front headlights, like the Honda Reflex and Piaggio X9. To me, the bikes look more sportbike inspired with separated headlights. This means I really don’t like the Silverwing for this reason. Told ya — weird.

As far as I know, the US version of the Burgman 400 has a headlight cover that wraps across the front of the faring, unlike the Reflex and X9.

HOWEVER, this guy’s Burgman 400 has separated headlights!!! Is this a european only design, or is this something that is on the way?

    Thanks,

    Brad

    Hey Brad!

I think the 650 has a split headlight… I think the Japanese version, the Skywave, has split lights. I should ask Fred Brown (idontgiveashift monthly ride organizer) to see what he knows about this.

(*whispers* I kinda like the split lights too.)

Steve, I finally looked on the http://www.suzuki.it website. There is a bike listed as a “Burgman 400″ and this bike, which is listed as the “New Burgman 400.” The new bike has cowling changes and the split headlights — not sure what else.

    I want one!

Yep, this is the New Burgman 400 K7. Very nice. Bigger tires, swingarm suspension, larger gas tank, larger storage area. . . .

My current bike is a 2001 Reflex, and I this will be its replacement should Suzuki bring the K7 to the US market.

Finally tracked this down. The bike is a New Burgman 400 K7. I believe the current US Burgman is known as the K5.

The K7 has a different cowling, much nicer windshield, larger gas tank, larger storage area, larger wheels, etc, etc, etc.

My current bike is a 2001 Reflex. If the K7 comes to the US market, the Reflex is gonna have to go.

The K7 refers to the year model. The first years models in the USA was the AN400K3 and AN650K3 in 2003. All Burgmans (400, 400 Type S, 650, and 650 Exec) have had the dual headlights since their introduction in the USA. The redesigned 2007 Burgman 400 still has dual lamps, but only one side burns on low beam (like many sport bikes) in order to meet European standards without modification.

Personally, I think the myburgman site of is horrible. When looking for information on scooters, I sure as heck don’t want to play a game to figure out where the information is located. Give me a clear set of menus anytime over flashy content.

If you want more information on the Burgman 650 or 400, I suggest heading over to the BurgmanUSA.com forums.
