Check out the early releases! The Yamaha C3 (cubed), which is their previous concept called the Two-Wheeled-Violin-Case Vox. Good to see this released! Nine gallons of storage and a 49cc engine make this the ultimate scoot for the ride back and forth to Whole Foods.
Check out the updated Suzuki Burgman 400 too! Featuring updated body work making it look rather sexy. Click on the Burgman link to see what TMW says about it… and let us know when you see these in your local dealerships!
Honda is still holding it’s cards on everything but the good ‘ole Helix, yep she’s still around… hrm… what to expect? What-to-ex-pect? *taps chin with index finger*

I gotta admit- I’ve been eyeballin a Morpheus… am I nuts?
Yeah but that has nothing to do with scooter choices. If that Morpheus had the 400cc drivetrain from the Majesty it might just find a home in my carport.
Of course the spousal unit is giving me some grief about it. And later today I’m going to look at a Honda MB5, $500 and very clean looking.
Ok, yes, I’m nuts!

You know, I once knew of a Yamaha 12 string guitar named Vox. Some names just get recycled within the company?!?!
Yes, Nate, you may just be crazy but that hasn’t really stopped any of us from looking at the Morpheus… it looks more like a jet ski than a jet ski!!

This will be you next week:

As for the Morph going 400cc? It would be a smart move for the American market. I have a feeling your gonna see scoots bigger than the current cc heavy weight champion (Burg 650) in ’07.
It would make sense for more manufacturers to consider the American long distance (30 miles+) commuter.
I actually think I’d like one of these C3′s with a 70cc kit… if that’s possible… But, then again, I don’t travel 30+ miles a day.

Ok, call ME crazy but I think I see some similarities to an old Cushman,
1. sitting on a box
2. one round headlight
3. simple front fender
If I had on of these I would have to kit the engine and get some differnt’ handlebars, but I could see buyin one of these easily.

Yer all crazy.

The Yamaha C3 used to be a grand piano too. Google it.

This should be in stores by November… No word on whether there’s a 50cc->70cc 4 stroke kit that will work on this baby.
You know what I’m seeing? Get one of those 12v console fridges that go in your Van or SUV and build it into the seat. A nice way to keep your refreshments cold or… if you can get it cool enough, maybe a 2 wheeled ice cream truck?
OR… you could use all that air space for a subwoofer and make it a rolling concert.
OR… I better stop… I’ve got work to do.

Steve, you might remember that I claim the title of being the first Yank on the first International Moped Endurance racing team during my stay in GB from 85-89. Our two wheeled racer was an MB5, which we raced with a Yamaha engine hung in the engine bay after the Honda motor went south. The Yamaha motor came from our moped sidehack rig!
I love tha photo from the Salt Flats! Maybe I can get over there for some of Speedweek this year. Its only 120 miles from here.

We will know Honda’s 2007 offerings after the Honda Dealer Show – Sept 6th.
Currently, it’s confirmed that the DN-01 automatic motorcycle will be available spring 07 in Japan and fall 07 in Europe. Reportedly, Japanese Honda dealers are asserting that the E4-01 will be produced and will be available in Japan within the next few years.
Personally, I’m not interested in a long wheelbase cruiser or what is essentually a SilverWing-900. Unless Honda releases the GRF1 (aka Griffon), I’ll wait for Piaggio’s 850 V-Twin scooter reportedly to be styled much like the Beverly.

That Vox is a neat scooter. Now, if only they would make it in a 150. That would be extremely useful. I’d rather like to see the Japanese brands bring over some of their scoots that could compete in the mid range of the market.

Bryce is right. If it were offered in the 125 – 150 class, I’d sure be lookin’ hard at one!
