A brief record of the differences I’m finding between a 4-stroke Honda Helix and a 2-Stroke Vespa.
It’s much more work to wash a Vespa than a Helix. With all those nooks and crannies (ESPECIALLY the crannies). Plus I’m scared. With an Italian electrical system I’m in fear that a misplaced droplet of water could short the whole system!

A friend asked me about washing my scooter and I said, “wash? I’ve owned it for 8 years and I’ve probably only washed it once!”

Yeah, I think it’s a habit when I get a new used item… Washing it, to me, is like hitting the reset button.
We’ll see how long it takes for me to do that again.

My P200E has been washed once since I’ve had it, by Rollerderby girls at a fundraiser. My smallframe has been washed about twice since I’ve owned it, once right before I hit it with the Krylon paint job.
We had a good ride on Sunday, a few old faces and new people on vintage bikes.

It sounds like you should have stayed with the Honda.

Well… If I wash it once, the troubles over.

Dude, The very complex Italian thing leaves a bunch to be desired. I teethed on Piaggio Ciaos, but now, I prefer horsepower – however I DO dig that rectagular headlamp on your Fiat – uh, I mean Vespa!! Yeah – watch out for that aqua!
:)

Hey Steve, When can Dan and I start hotroddin’ that T5? I’m thinking we put it on a dyno first, then do some minor mojo to it in order to see what improvements in power can be had without spending too much money. Then later put a cylinder kit on and some more porting mojo along with some carb mods. Wheelie-city buddy.

BTW, Sometime in the future it would be neat to organize a “Day at the drags” kinda’ thing. Just an Idea.
