Grrrr! Scooter theft just rubs my rhubarb! And it’s growing! Um… Scooter theft.. not, my rhubarb. Anyway, check out this news bit:

Scooters are a hot commodity, in multiple senses of the word, this summer in New Albany.

They’re popular, thanks to their low use of expensive gasoline.

They’re painful to sit on if you leave them out in the sun.

And they’re being stolen.

Several motor scooter and moped thefts have frustrated and confused victims, especially when the vehicles had been seemingly well-secured.

Richmer said he’d heard that neighbors across the street had had two mopeds stolen in the past month.

Good thing we have sites like Scoot.net’s Stolen Scooter Registry. It’s great for place to alert your fellow scooterists that someone swiped your bike and it’s GOT to be better than yelling “Swiper no swiping” three times. Sure the site could use things like the ability to delete a post if your scoot is recovered, or the ability to sort by state, but it’s free! So, who’s complaining?
