I’m not sure where Dudel get’s his scoops and sometimes I’m afraid to ask… but here’s the “BIG” rumor that’s been circulating around the Aprilia camp:
You heard it here first. From an Aprilia rep who was recently at the factory… “The mega scooter thats been doing the rounds as a Gilera is going to be in the Aprilia 2007 line up.” SCARABEO 750 for 2007 Don’t know which countries.
I had heard about something big to be expected in ’07 and 750cc’s is definitely in that class.

Sorry, actually it’s an 850 (oops). Reportedly an insider was shown photos by a Piaggio guy and the ‘Gilera Nexus 850′ spy-photo that’s been making the rounds on teh internet is actually an Aprilia Scarabeo 850.

Oct 1st is the Piaggio meeting so we should know more after that about new models for the US.

Ok, found out more info… it’s an Aprilia (but not Scarabeo). Think Atlantic 500 as an 850. Good news is that they have reportdly been showing video of it doing wheelies and burnouts to some reps… bad news is that they have been having drive-belt troubles with the monster engine and that’s why it’s been taking so long to get to market.
* It looks like the the Gilera Ferro 850cc automatic motorcycle will also be sold as an Aprilia.
About the dealers meeting; there is talk that they might not reveal all USA 2007 models until November.
