Moped

Sam in Albany scoops us on some HOT toys from Japan. In three days, it will have been a year since F-Toys in Osaka had released their “Moped Collection” from the “1/24 Vintage Bike Museam” (misspelled as it is on the packaging) set.

This sweetly detailed collection includes a 1958 Honda Cub with rider (and a little basket with two kitties in there), a 1966 Cub with ‘head intensely cocked out’ rider wearing a pair of flip-flops, a Mr. Thurston Howell dressed gentleman on a 1957 Rabbit, a stylish scarfed little bird and her trusty 1964 Rabbit AND a couple of sweet 70′s hunnies on a pair of 1976 Honda Expresses.

I know I need say nothing else… You want them.

Now, how to get them is another issue. Are they still available? Maybe a hip little shop will get them imported and offer them online. Any takers? P-Town? Urban Moto? The Motorcycle Shop? Any of the multitudes of swanky moped shops? This chapter is just unfolding… We’ll keep you posted, in the meantime here’s how F-Toys describes ‘em:

I have a few of these. They are $9 at a little Japanese anime toy and book shop around the corner from Vespa Soho in NYC. Pretty cool.
