With lightweight and low drag aerodynamics, you can have both. With a 25 gallon fuel tank and up to 80 mpg, you would have a maximum range of 2,000 miles. You could drive coast to coast and only need to stop once to fuel up. For commuting at 50 mph, you would have a range of 1,250 miles. If you’re traveling 50 miles per day, you would have enough fuel for 25 days. Fill up once a month.
Now, I’m really doubting that “150+ MPH” and “80 mpg” go hand-in-hand and I’m not sure how you’d get 80 mpg out of a Chevy small block. This is starting to sound a bit like a Boss Hoss with a full body fairing kit.
Anyone ever see one of these in person? Kinda reminds me of when I was a kid. I always wanted to build a Lambo kit, until I realized I didn’t have any money… or skills. That’s probably…why… I’m not building a kit today. If I were, I’d try to stick some electric motors in one of these. Oh, and note… Never hire Dogbert as your “Green Consultant”.

It’s a cool concept, but I’m not sure if I’d like to go 150-200mph in a 3 wheeler.
I’ll bet it corners like crap ;-)

“Corners like crap” Do you know how badly 3-wheelers understeer when the single wheel is up front? They are terrible. There’s just no way to get enough rubber on the ground to implement effective steering with only one wheel doing the steering.
It looks cool, and it could be fun in a hyper-mileage kind of way with a really efficient small motor in the back but it wouldn’t be a sports car going around turns.
Someday- someday I’m going to build my Goldwing powered 3-wheeler with inline seating and 2 wheels up front. Sort of a modern, uprated Messerschmidt type rig. Where’s my welder?

Maybe you need a kit bike. It would be a much easier place to get started.

Gentlemen, My Dad actually owns one of these vehicles. I can attest to the fact that the manufacturer did NOT overstate his facts. Unfortunately, Bob Keyes, the owner/designer, died about two years ago. The man knew what he was doing. He had a degree in physics. The first three wheel design Bob built was back in the ’70′s. It was called the “Tri-vette” Guy’s: It ran like a raped ape. AND handled like a dream. The main reason most 3-wheelers handle like crap is that they are designed WRONG!
I could write all evening, But I’m actually looking for one to buy! The speed, handling, and oh so important today:the mileage!
