The Burgman doesn’t get a whole lotta press, so when this showed up at the Motoblog.it, I had to share. Click on the title link to see hotties lounging on a Burg, eating ice cream on a Burg, posing on a Burg and all the stuff you would expect to happen if you own a Burg… but never seems to happen. OR… maybe it DOES happen, but it’s when you are up in the office. Next time try looking down out of the office window at your Burgman to see if chicks are swarming all over it. I bet that’s when it happens. You can also look for melted ice cream on or around your Burg.

I guess I should quit putting the cover on mine when I ride it to work. Look at all of the good times that I have ruined!

[GIGANTIC post... (har-har!!!)]

Ok, ok, ok… I have in my arsenal both the Burgman 650 and the venerable Honda Helix. I think that giving up my 104mph top speed (true rather than indicated) would be sustainable if one of those young Polish models decided to make me her new “American Husband” ;-)

But ya know – my by-line is “Pete: World Traveler and Nice guy.” As all of you guys out there already know…. being “nice” is about as useful as tarts on a bull….

Speaking of Tarts on a bull – here’s a little insight to my 2 wheel world from these last few days…(My lady friend’s Kooky Yellow Helix)

Mid August update. A year and only about 425 smiles later…

The little buttercup has spent most of the summer under a nice cover in my carport. I started it up last June but did not take it for a ride. It gave me hell when I tried to get her started then – but it did finally sputter to life. I knew that it wasn’t going to be long before I’d have to jump this thing off or tow it back over to GCG’s apartment and say – here – you get it started! I let it idle for about a half hour.

Well in her usual gracious style she brought me over some beeeer and we agreed to give the ol Buttercup a try.

I cranked and cranked and cranked. No joy. Then on about the 8th time she just went kaput. We did manage to get a sputter out of her…

No worries! Lets jump it! So we did. After a quick check of how to remove the battery cover (seat) it was about 7 more spin overs and eureaka! “Cough cough, sput sput!” She came to life!

I rode it to work today – and again – how cool is this! I promise to not let her sit for so long in the future.

There is something truly endearing about riding that totally GAY yellow Helix onto a spec op base what w/all of the billy bad ass customs and Milwaukee iron…. I almost want to tape pin-wheels to the rear-views and flaunt the gay yellow scooterism into the face of all of the tough guy chopper riders.

Not that I am gay – it’s just that it is so gay! :D

And it’s a HOOT!!!

Riding her in again tomorrow!

ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM!

Flying in the face of convention and laughing in the face of the insecure Y chromosome!

Me :D

So sip some vino, ponder the more esoteric things in life, and relax – just remember that all of us non-burgman scooter killers aren’t that bad…hell I teethed on a 71 Vespa 50 4 speed! ;-) When that was then! Yee-Haww!

Gilera Fuoco 800?

Still unconfirmed gossip at this point but some guy on the Motard.it forum claims that while riding around the Pontedera region a Gilera Fuco passed him going over 100mph – suspects a Fuoco with the GP800 engine being taken for a run. Also, GP800′s in the wild:

Hey Brent! Tisk-tisk… ALL of it… RUINED! Maybe if you leave her uncovered this week it’ll just be a mountain of pillow fighting girlies dripping ice cream all over your Burg. Give it a shot (and bring a camera, just in case.)

Dave! Polish, eh? How can you tell?

Vespa Motorcycle! This ever happen to your scooter?

Pete: World Traveler and Nice Guy! Now THAT’S a post. It’s nearly its own BLOG ENTRY! You didn’t jump butter cup with your car did you? If so, I guess everything was alright, eh? I suppose 12v is 12v.

Also… the Yellow Helix is a bit flamboyant. My Pearl White Helix wasn’t far behind. I think the yellow should be done up like Chocoba:

*Sips Vino*

*Reads Dudel’s rumor on a Fuoco800 and spits Vino all over monitor*

Hrm… A Fuoco 500 tops out at about 90MPH, so 100MPH would probably have to have SOMETHING going on in there, unless they were going down hill.

I still wanna see this GP800 in the flesh. I wonder if I ever will.
Thanks for the rumor. I might have to post that.
