Usually when you think “Honda Scooters” it might conjure up thoughts of cuteness (Metro) or oddness (most everything else)… but when you’ve seen what I’ve seen lurking around craigslist, it might change your mind. Check out THIS Honda Helix of DOOOOM! It was an ’86 like my own Uhura back in the day. I think it has potential. It’s screaming for a set of duel headlamps though. Click on the title link to see the original post (if it’s still there).

What a waste of the helix’s gorgeous land-snowmobile bodywork. Or maybe it looks more like a jet-ski…

I have a mid 80′s 150 Elite that is going to get this rat bike treatment. I rescued it from the back of a bike shop. It’s nice to get an idea of what it will look like.

I saw that this morning too. All I can say is…weird.

Hmm, reminds me of a Ruckus a little actually. Stick some big knobby tires on there and you’ll have the worlds first off-road Helix.

Fighting headlamps?

D’oh! Good catch Dave. Though, a pair of headlamps with pistols mounted (for dueling) would be quite nice. I mint dual like too of them.

C’mon Mr. Scooter Scoop, get over there and get us some juicy hirez shots of this beast and get us the story on this rig. :D

First Helix I’ve ever seen that I liked the look of! (yeh, I’m not really into the “summer snowmobile” look of the stock Helix)

sniff… feeling a little homesick for South Austin now. That picture of the dirt lot, stripped-down rat scooter, old Chevy Blazer, and random trashed MG could be titled “Still Life, South Congress”. Just needs a case of Lone Star, and maybe a dude in a ripped up straw cowboy hat sitting in a baby pool smoking a joint and eating a barbacoa taco.

I took the thing for a test ride and the freaking jesus bolt on the front drive flew off! THis rides like it looks – dangerous!

Has anyone converted a Helix from 6 to 12 Volts? If so what is involved in addition to a battery change.
Please respond to Isleander@Gmail.com
Thanks,
Bill

The Honda Helix uses a 12 volt system stock from the
factory. There’s no need to convert it unless you want to convert
it to 6 volts which I wouldn’t recommend.

That scooter is a lot of things, but one thing it isn’t is a Helix. See http://www.voidstar.com/bff/images/cnnude1.jpg for a real stripped Helix.
