Jeff over at KymcoJones, or KymCojones depending on how you read it,has the scoop and the resurrected Chuck Mead music video for his song “I Wish It Was Friday”.  If you’re not into country, then you may not recognize the name Chuck Mead, and if you never watched Hee Haw you may not recognize the orgins of his band’s name, but BR5-49 has been around for some 16 years with Grammy nominations and Billboard chartings on their resume.

So, why would we post a music video for a country song?  It will become apparent when you watch the video (even ska bands don’t have this many scooters in them).  Thanks again JP!  Oh, you can check out Jeff’s behind the scenes video here.

Don’t forget Chuck getting pulled over for speeding on his Honda C70. It’s a hoot.

Those big modern scooters sure don’t fit in with the vintage bikes.

Hans — I think Steve said it best: “If you’re not into country, then you may not recognize the name Chuck Mead, and if you never watched Hee Haw you may not recognize the orgins of his band’s name, but BR5-49 has been around for some 16 years with Grammy nominations and Billboard chartings on their resume.”

I don’t know much more about him, since I’m not into country music, but he’s a nice enough guy, and I was happy to be a scooting extra for the video.

Anon — Nashville seems to be one of the more tolerant towns regarding “bike mixing.” :) Mindful of appearances, though, I rode my Vino, rather than my People 250, for the shoot. Turns out the producer and director didn’t care what was being ridden.

I’m not a scooter snob. I like modern scooters. I’m just sayin’, those bikes look goofy together.

I wished I watched more “Hee Haw” growing up.

Anon: As a visual artiste (heh), I can't disagree. That's why I rode the Vino.

Still, given the spirit of the tune, and what I know of Chuck's personality, it all makes sense. It's about riding, having fun, and having dogs climb trees to retrieve Frisbees™. ;)
