Two wheeled tractor? The EcoRider

Mon, Aug 23, 2010

I don’t believe these are in production any more, but back in 2006 you could still buy them.  Scootish Scottish motorcycle manufacturer, EcoRider, produced their version of the Rokon called the Hippo, but instead of two wheel drive this bike had a diesel engine.  The 230cc diesel bike would cost you about $4000 if it were still around and available in the USA.

Here’s a bit more background on this short lived, but cool, oddity… and a video:

Thanks for the scoop, Tim!

Cool but wishful thinking hooked onto that trailer. I moved a empty hayrack around on the farm with a ATC 90 as kid (super low gears). I could get it moving, but heaven help me if I tried to stop.

Well, an ATC 90 and a 230cc diesel are quite different I would say.

The right tool for the the right job is what I say.
Like a old Ford N8 tractor about the same HP but a lot more practical.
But I am biased my other hobby is restoring old iron ;)
