KING5.com | News for Seattle, Washington | KING5 Business: “SEATTLE – The high price of gas is much easier to stomach if you can get 65 to 110 miles per gallon. It’s possible. A growing number of local drivers have found the right vehicle to scoot around the record prices.
Mark Mihok doesn’t really know the exact gas mileage of his new motor scooter.
Mark Mihok appreciates his new freedom.
‘I bought it about four months ago,’ he said.
But he doesn’t care when it’s roughly 80 to 90 miles per gallon.

‘Most of the people that talk to me about my scooter are interested in the gas mileage savings, period,’ said Phil Lecato, Interbay Scooters.

‘When you tell them this one you can pretty much fill up with the change in your pocket, they’re pretty amazed by that because I talk to people that shell out between $75 and $100 to fill up and we go about the same distance,’ said Mihok.

The high gas prices are making Phil Lecato’s job much easier, too. Walk-in traffic to his Interbay Scooters store has jumped 200 percent this year.”
