You remember Quang Nguyen’s high tech Vespa from its debut at Amerivespa Seattle, right? Well it got a heap-o-press today from Engadget. Sounds like this:

Are you ever cruising on your Vespa, listening to The Kinks, pondering the plot of Absolute Beginners, and fantasizing about Twiggy when you think, “Hey, I need to check my email”? Well, you’re in luck, because Quang Nguyen, a forward thinking Vespa-modder (no pun intended) has managed to cram a touchscreen rockin’, WiFi sportin’, XP-equipped PC into his red GTS250. Sure, he’s also got a Louis Vuitton seat, but that isn’t nearly as exciting as the prospect of being able to watch Quadrophenia and update your MySpace profile from any spot you happen to motor towards. Just make sure to watch out for the Rockers.

One day, this whole set up on the bike would end up like a dinosaur when a smaller gadget is invented. Duh! They have such a thing now. It’s called an iPhone.

Man, I have enought trouble restoring scooters without adding such difficult modifications. If i had this set up on my vespa I think i would be too scared to ride it.

Louis Vuitton makes a Vespa seat?

No, it’s only a tacky, fake Louis Vuitton vinyl trim around the seat. Scooting fashionistas take a collective sign!

That’s a bit overgeneralization, fat tony!
I would certainly not consider myself a nerd; but rather a Progressive. But Quang Nguyen is a no doubt a nerd, I would agree. The Internet does not run my life; nor is my life revolved around the Internet. Riding a scooter with a WiFi umbilical cord to the Internet takes away from the simplicity and the beauty of scootering.

Why is it that all the iphone loving geek n00bs from modernvespa hate this bike and the rest of the scooter world thinks its pretty cool?

Did Quang push a few noses out of joint or are you just jealous.

hey man, be nice, the people on modern vespa are cool. I mean really, what flavor is a modern vespa? Did what did you name your vespa? If your vespa was a song, what song is it? How do you corner on your Vespa? How do you start your vespa? When you come to a red light, how do you stop your vespa? When you park, how do you turn off your vespa? My vespa doesnt have a name, what should I name it?
