New campaign makes a strong case for wearing a helmet

Found out about this campaign from the “Asia Injury Prevention Foundation” through Motoblogger.it (see title link).

It address these three logical statements:
1) I won’t wear a helmet, it makes me look stupid.
2) I don’t like wearing a helmet, it ruins my hair.
3) I never wear a helmet, they don’t look cool.

The only helmet I know that really makes these statements ring true is this one:

Ok, and maybe the one from SweetyPrize, which will definitely mess up your hair (not DOT approved). So… wear a helmet, please.

If these three posters don’t slap some sense into you, I don’t know what will. Click on them to make them bigger and ickier and scarier, then maybe you’ll change your mind.

So what kind/brand of helmet do you wear, Steve? :D

    Well, I’ve got 2.

My first helmet was an ICON Mainframe Halo (Yellow and Black). It’s a great full-face helmet. Very comfortable and quiet. I still have it now, but lately I’ve been wearing a MOMO Design helmet (from Benchmark Helmets, of course), the Mini MOMO in bright orange.

You know, I’ve always been a fan of the full-face, but after riding with the open face I’m beginning to see some advantages (look for my report soon).

    Cheers!

Whaddayamean! I think that looks supercool. From now on I’m wearing an old wheelbarrow on my head, wherever I go, even thogh it outweighs my Honda Spree.

    :D -AHAHA!

THAT would be a hoot. Make sure to use a large belt as a chin strap. Wouldn’t want that thing falling off during a quick stop. Maybe you can figure out a way to make a visor for it too. ;)

You can tell from the picture that the wheelbarrow is not a DOT certified motorcycle helmet – it’s a bicycle helmet.

    Damn. Good catch Tim!
Sorry reddog, you can’t wear that on your spree, maybe on your moped it would be ok though.
